Mrs. Eliška Hašková Coolidge will share with us her experience from the White House where she worked as a special assistant for five american presidents. Mrs. Eliška H.C. will also talk about american policy and upcoming presidential elections. Workshop: “Take it or leave it!”

On 11th November, 2015, MUN Prague was delighted to organize a workshop with Mr. Vladimír Nálevka, the co-owner and leading consultant of Interquality company focusing on negotiation skills improvement. His services were provided to leading both Czech and international companies such as Škoda Auto, Telefónica O2, Hewlett-Packard or Sanofi-Aventis.


The workshop was held at the University of Economics, in RB 209 from 7.45 p.m and focused mainly on a difficult situation known as “take it or leave it”. Starting by necessary theoretical background, students were given the opportunity to came up with their own creative solutions. Two teams were formed and outcomes of their brainstormings were successfully tested in simulations.

Lecture: Canadian Stance on Current Immigration Crisis

In the beginning of November, on 2nd November 2015, the student organization Model United Nations Prague was honoured to welcome His Excellency Mr. Otto Jelinek, the Ambassador of Canada in the Czech Republic in University of Economics in Prague. The ambassador agreed to present the stance of Canada on the current immigration crisis followed by discussion with participants of this lecture. The debate had focused mainly on possible solutions of this crisis as well as on different approaches towards this issue highlighting Canadian positive experience with its open immigration policies.

On 23rd February, 2015, the student organization, MUN Prague, had again the pleasure of organizing the lecture with Mrs. Eliška Hašková Coolidge, the former special assistant to five American presidents, from the time of John Fitzgerald Kennedy to Ronald Reagan.

The lecture took place at the University of Economics, in RB 101 from 7.30 p.m.

Mrs. Eliška H. talked during her speech about the family and their beginnings in the United States. She also told us about her working in the White House. She spoke not only about the current issues of the international scene, namely the Crisis in Ukraine, but also about everyday social behavior, ethics and etiquette.

Mrs. Eliska launched her career in 1959 by enrolling in the prestigious Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Upon graduation cum laude she joined the White House Staff as a Staff Assistant on the Speechwriter´s Staff and subsequently created the Office of Presidential Messages of which she served for 18 years as Director and Special Assistant to the President. Facing the need for key legislature in the areas of civil service and economic recovery, the Czech public debate focuses on possible changes of the local political system in order to achieve stability. Member of the Czech Council of Economic Advisers (NERV) and financial economist Pavel Kohout, presented his new book discussing the possible reform of the Czech constitution at another MUN Prague lecture. The aim of the reform would be to achieve better governance in the areas of fiscal sustainability and direct responsibility of elected representatives to their voters.
