Greetings from Warsaw!

Earlier this week a delegation from the University of Economics, Prague participated in the conference and simulation Young Visegrad organized by our partner SKN Spraw Zagranicznych SGH. The delegation represented the Czech Republic at V4 level. As delegates Anna Saidlová, Diana Max, Kseniya Sheshyna, Ivana Kostelanská and Maxim Mayboroda represented MUN Prague in Warsaw. It was a unique opportunity to discuss topics, such as the migration crisis, Brexit and to listen to distinguished guests.

At the beginning of August, the delegation from the University of Economics, Prague participated in VIMUN and our members could not miss that opportunity. As delegates of IAEA and WTO, Maxim Mayboroda, Matěj Procházka and Tetiana Maistrenko enjoyed negotiations in Vienna, one of the HQs of the United Nation.

NATO – IAEA: Best friends forever against cyberterrorism

After long silence, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization finally issued a Communiqué addressing the threat of cyber-terrorism and the attack against Doel nuclear energy plant.

In the document, NATO harshly compares the spread of cyber capabilities with the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Surprisingly, the international organization chose to remain silent about the cyber attack on the Doel nuclear energy plant in Belgium.

The International Atomic Energy Association responded to the Communiqué and pledged their assistance to improving security standards in nuclear power plants worldwide. The organization also decided on an IAEA emergency session in Vienna with the purpose of developing the Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT).
